Neighborhoods: Greenbrae
Convenience, schools, and views are the main attractions in the community of Greenbrae. Commuters love the one minute drive to the freeway and the two minute drive to the Larkspur ferry Terminal. The town’s Bon Air shopping center serves as the commercial and social hub with some 50 shops and services, and if you happen to need medical care you’ll be in good hands at Marin General Hospital, located just over the hill. Greenbrae shares a highly regarded school system with Kentfield, including Bacich (pronounced like base-itch) Elementary and Kent Middle School. The area takes it’s name from a Scottish word meaning “green hillside,” and the town is true to its name. Most homes are situated on the hill above Sir Francis Drake Blvd., with majestic views of the San Francisco Bay, Corte Madera Creek, and Mount Tamalpias. Greenbrae also is home to quite a few condominium and townhouse developments, as well as a small population of houseboats.
