Obama Urges Lenders to Move it on Loan Modifications

Troubled homeowners waiting on loan modifications are getting help from the Obama administration.  25 lenders who signed up for the Making Home Affordable program were urged to move faster to help homeowners.

According to the California Association of REALTORS®, the letter sent to the chief executives of these 25 institutions said: “We are asking that all servicers expand servicing capacity and improve the execution quality of loan modifications in order to help the sizable number of homeowners at risk of foreclosure and eligible for the program.”

By August 4, the Obama adminstation wil be issuing monthly reports on lenders’ performance including information on how many loan modifications have been implemented.

Marin Farmer’s Markets

Farmer’s Markets are a great way to get fresh produce locally grown. Marin County is fortunate to have a number of great farmer’s markets on all different days. These are often great outings as many of them offer live music, games for kids, and a fun social atmosphere in additional to lots of fabulous locally grown produce! Each farmer’s market has its own special flare, so try out more than one. My personal favorite is the Thursday night event in downtown San Rafael.

One of the great things about living in California is the abundance of protected outdoor space and state parks.  Due to the California budget crisis, Govener Schwarzenegger has proposed to cut almost 80% of the California State Parks.  220 out of the states 279 parks are on the chopping block including Angel Island State Park!  View the full list of proposed California State Parks to be closed here.
